The Mauraders aren't great for troops, but early on it's about raw numbers more than good troops. The upgraded camp is to start you off with reduced upkeep for units and increase your growth, these 2 things are vital for success down the track. Upgrade your Nomadic Camp to a Tribal Gathering and then recruit 2 units of Chaos Mauraders. The sweet spot is just past the point of the ocean bay as shown here :Īt this point, you want to build and recuit before you end turn.
The key thing is to move no more than 75% of your move to allow you to then encamp for building and recruitment purposes, but you will be in range to attack Baersonlings camp next turn. Next thing is to plan you move to Baersonling's Camp, its the closest settlement to your start location, and is held by one of the northern tribes, The Varg. You obviously want to start your first and only research available, The Path To Ruination. From the testing i've done and what i've read from others posts in the community, Large for your units setting is going to provide the most balanced campaign play, both for yourself and how the AI behaves.Ĭhange your unit size setting at your own risk !!!Īll pic's are from the default camera perspetive on the campaign for easy understanding, you should always be able to find the right spot on the map though.ĭoesn't matter which Lord your using, I prefer the mighty Kholek, but this will work equally well with Sigvald or Archaeon. Conversly, if you set it to ultra, magic has a less beneficail effect, often doing next to nothing. If your set your unit size to small, magic hits hard, and can often decimate whole units with one spell. This is because the game mechanics for unit sizes DO NOT SCALE, and this has a distoring effect on magic and heroes. My graphics are set on ultra, but importantly the unit size is on Large.
